There seems to be packet loss on usa4-vn, this is now being looked in to.
This only seems to be affecting usa1-pn and usa2-pn but I’ve listed this post under other servers that could be affected at all.
There seems to be packet loss on the network, I have an emergency ticket open with the datacentre and hope to get this resolved asap – in fact as I’m writing this things seem to be improving already.
UPDATE (19:35): I can confirm that as I was finishing the post, buffering completely stopped. I’ve also had word from the network admin confirming that they were working on blocking a flood which lasted for about 5-10 minutes.
Due to a server configuration problem, InstantChatBox.net has been intermittent over the last few days.
This problem has now been fixed, and anyone using the service (Mostly FreeStreamHosting users) should find that it is much more reliable.
The shoutcast server s2 is being reinstalled. This will not affect any of our customers.
If you are on the free service and you are hosted on s2 then it should be back in about an hour, backups have been made so no data lost.
UPDATE (13:35): Problem during installation, will be fixed by about 4pm.
UPDATE (18:26): Back online
UK1-VN (Value network) seems to have gone down a couple of times for a few minutes. This is being worked on. Updates to follow. No other servers are affected.
UPDATE (22.15): It seems that most people are in fact able to access the server. I’m unable to access the support system for the datacentre that the server is hosted at so have opened a post on WHT here http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=906052
UPDATE (00:33): It seems that they are experiencing a DDoS attack, this is being worked on, please consult the link above for up to date info.
UPDATE (20th 18:12): There does seem to be some buffering for some listeners, I have been assured that the network is being worked on to get it back to full capacity.
Due to demand, we now accept bank transfers so if you want to bypass Paypal and all the rest then you can do so. Bank details are on all invoices.
Some customers have noticed slowness on the control panel and billing/support system. I think I’ve found the cause of this – recently I installed a stats program to generate statistics for a few websites including streams hosted on freestreamhosting.org. Due to the popularity of the website, there are 1000s of people on the stream pages which was causing huge numbers of mysql queries. I’ve disabled the stats and the CPU usage on the server has gone from almost 100% to 2% which is more normal.
I expect no more problems.
The mixstream.net website and control panel may be unavailable for a short period of time while it is transferred to a new server. I expect it to be fully transferred tonight some time.
This has been resolved, the panel and support system were intermittent for about an hour or so. This was caused by the ram overloading.
I don’t expect any more problems.
This didn’t affect any customer stream or web hosting servers.
A new server has been added to the premium network, located in Texas USA. This is a new location for us and all new customers will be put on to the server by default.
