There seems to be an issue affecting some routes to the USA premium network, affecting the following servers:
usa1-pn, usa2-pn, usa1-adj, usa2-adj, usa3-adj and usa4-adj
I have a ticket open with the datacentre and will update this post as I get info.
UPDATE: This seems to have been resolved and seems to have been a temporary issue with a supplier outside of the network.
Last night, usa3-pn went down. It was put back up within 30 minutes, however when the server was originally set up, http wasn’t added to autostart when the server boots – this is normally done when a server is set up as it is required for shoutcast streams to start.
As a result, the small number of customers on the server would have experiences a long outage, and we will be offering a partial refund under the service level agreement to all affected customers.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the downtime and have fixed the error that caused it to last for longer than necessary.
There currently seems to be some packet loss on one if the USA value networks. This will affect some customers on usa1-5 vn.
It may be another DDOS attack. Updates to come.
Some people may have noticed that the secure pages of our website at secure.bellonline.co.uk were partially encrypted for a few days. This was due to two images linking to a non-https location inside a javascript file after a website update.
This has now been fixed so you should find that https pages are serving fully encrypted content with no errors.
This does not affect paying customers of any of our services.
It has become very time consuming to offer live support to users on the free service, so we no longer offer live support for FreeStreamHosting users. The main problem has been that users of this service rarely read the FAQ before getting in touch and tend to ask questions that are covered, there is also the problem of a lot of people signing up that don’t know how to use shoutcast and I am spending a lot of time explaining how to stream (often to people that don’t have a good grasp of English which makes things 10 times harder).
There will also be some changes to the way that general support enquiries are handled. Any tickets received asking questions that are answered in the FAQ will be rejected without notice. The same goes for those that don’t contain the required information (stream URL).
From now on, we only accept support requests from FreeStreamHosting users from http://secure.bellonline.co.uk/submitticket-fsh.php
Due to an issue that two customers are having with FTP on the AutoDJ servers, I’m updating the FTP server software on usa2-adj. This will mean that FTP is unavailable for a few minutes.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
After getting a lot of requests from customers and freestreamhosting users for a flash player that doesn’t display listener stats, I’ve changed the player to FFMP3. This has been changed on all up to date links so if your player hasn’t changed then please log in to the control panel and check that you’re using the correct link/code to display it.
Here’s an example http://shoutcast.mixstream.net/flash/uk2-pn:8740
I’ll be adding the ability to disable auto-start at some point as well, this is something else that people have been requesting.
After noticing some slowness on connections to the eu1 server, I found that one IP in particular was opening up lots of connections. I’ve blocked the IP and the server is now stable.
uk2-vn is being rebooted as I’ve just found that it has gone into readonly mode. It should be back up shortly.
UPDATE (14:51): Server came back up within a couple of minutes and is now running smoothly.
