Meta
The scheduled reboot was carried out at 12:34am and the server was back up and running at 12:37am – the total downtime was 3 mins. This has resolved the login issue and all streams have started back up automatically.
Thank you for your understanding.
Expected downtime: under 5 minutes
Maintenance window: 12am – 1am, 31st March
While performing an update, the server seems to have gone into read-only mode unexpectedly so I’ll reboot it at around 12am – 1am or until someone complains about the unavailability of the control panel.
This isn’t affecting streams which is why I’m not going to reboot it immediately, however you will find that once logged in you get logged back out again until the reboot is complete.
PS, we are now on BST (GMT+1)
I’ll be performing maintenance on all value network servers over the next couple of days. This involves some changes to the databases and some general OS updates.
The database changes won’t make any different to the functionality of the control panel, they are just required for a new control panel I’ve been working on which has more features, and brings all services under one roof (so you can view premium and value servers as well as AutoDJ, transcoders etc with a single login).
No downtime is expected on streams, however you may find that each control panel will show a mysql error for about 30 seconds at most.
The maintenance is now complete and we expect no more problems. Streams have started to come back online automatically.
After the server crash a short time ago, we have arranged for the RAM to be replaced to avoid any future problems. The maintenance is expected to be carried out within 2 hours of this post and will cause another outage of 10-20 minutes.
We have decided to do this asap both because we don’t want to risk any more outages on the server.
All customers on USA3-PN will be entitled to compensation under the SLA because as a result of this outage, the downtime has been over 0.1% for the current month.
The server has been rebooted and is now functioning again. Shoutcast streams should start to come back online automatically, however if you find that your stream fails then you will be able to do a manual restart from the control panel.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
updates to follow
Some customers may have noticed that our websites and control panels were down this morning. This was due to a server crash and has now been resolved.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused, this did not affect any customer services.
If you have a support ticket open then thank you for your patience, it will be answered shortly.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused by the downtime on EU1, this is being worked on and we expect the server to be back online as normal soon.
There seems to be packet loss to some locations on some of the USA Value network servers. This is being worked on.
