You may find that one some freestreamhosting servers you get buffering and slow page loads. This is because our bandwidth provider has illegally cut the port speed on some servers.

We are close to making alternative arrangements with another provider and expect the issue to be fixed early next week.

Thank you for your patience. This does not affect any paying customers.

A brand new and improved flash radio player will be introduced over the next day. Some customers may have already noticed it when going to your flash player page (e.g http://shoutcast.mixstream.net/flash/uk2-pn:8740)

MixStream Radio Player Features:

* Exclusive to MixStream
* Auto updates song title
* View song history with artist images
* Real VU meter (left and right channels)
* Ability to specify colours and background image
* It’s one louder than the rest

The player will soon be available to anyone that wishes to use it, even non-MixStream customers.

The new player will be rolled out to the javascript embed code, so if you have that on your website you will see the new player after tomorrow.

If you would prefer to keep the old version, then simply change the part of the URL in the code that says flash to flashclassic, otherwise you don’t need to make any changes.

It is worth noting that the new player is wider to allow for the VU meters.

There will be a scheduled power outage in order to carry out essential maintenance on the power systems. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

This will affect a small number of customers on Shoutcast, AutoDJ, Dedi and Web Hosting plans. 90% of customers won’t be affected by this.

Sorry about all of the emails. This happened because when I reinstalled the server, I forgot to set it to start the web service up automatically. When the server was automatically rebooted last night, it appeared to the monitoring service that it was offline, so it was constantly rebooting.

The error has now been fixed and you will only receive emails once per outage.

The reboot system has also been reconfigured to check every 2 hours instead of every 30 minutes so if anything similar happens again then you will only get emails every 2 hours rather than every 30 minutes.

Due to maintenance on the power lines in our area, the power supply is planned to be cut off between 9AM and 4PM on the 19th August so support will be limited. You will still get a response but only urgent work will be carried out during the power outage as there will be limited battery time.

If you are on the free shoutcast service then you may notice a couple of minutes of maintenance on your server tonight or possibly tomorrow. This is due to the databases being moved to a new server which should improve stability on the stream servers.

Your stream will remain online and anyone already listening will be able to continue.

Paying customers are not affected.

We have been informed that due to unforeseen circumstances, the work is not to be carried out today so there will be no power cut. Support will continue as normal.

Due to some maintenance on the power lines in our area, the power supply is planned to be cut off for a short period at some point before 4pm today so support will be limited. You will still get a response but it won’t be possible for us to do any work other than to answer emails.

The stats server is now back up, but I’ve already ordered and am in the process of setting up a new server so will continue with that.

Once that’s set up, it may take some time for the DNS settings to update, but both servers will be active simultaneously.

The new server should mean that we don’t have the same problem again.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, it seems like the graphs wouldn’t transfer across to the new server for some reason, but as it has only been a few days since the last issue which resulted in the loss of graph data, not a lot has been lost this time. On the bright side, the new server should be much better as we’re using much higher quality hardware this time.
